It's National Check your receipts day

Okay, I just made that up. But I just got back from Kroger and TWICE in the last month I have been overcharged. They are super nice about it, and both times have reimbursed me, but guess who had to catch it? Not the checker, not the customer service rep, but me. I try to keep a tally in my head of how much my bill should be. Then when the total comes out, if it doesn't sit right, I check the receipt. Today I went to go buy more vitamins- 10 boxes to be exact- and it stopped giving me the BOGO sale after box number 8. Overcharge= $7 plus tax. A couple weeks ago the florist gave all 3 of my kids some leftover Mylar balloons from Secretary's day. I forgot to tell the checker and he charged me for all 3 balloons. Overcharge= $10. I am $17 dollars richer this month because I checked my receipts.

  1. You are so right. I bought some strawberries the other day and since I was chatting away with the cashier, I didn't notice that they rang up ORGANIC. Stephen noticed it on the receipt. I know I picked them up from the regular strawberries table so someone set the organic down and I had no idea.

  2. Kroger is great about that balloon thing. If you want free mylars, go the day after any holiday and you are likely to get some awesome free balloons!

  3. It happened again today- Kohl's charged me $6.99 for something marked down to 3.60. I caught it.
